Time in NY

That night was the beginning of one of the most beautiful and wonderful months of my live. I was with my sweetie all the hours that day since we get into there that night. We were with our families and some close friends. That night was hot outside, but inside it was fresher. After having done all the must we got into the last stage. That 19th of January was the beginning of those weeks carried with plenty of great things.

That night was a little uncomfortable, but it worthed. It was almost midnight while my sweetie and I remained on our seats. Though there were in-flight entertainment I was not feeling that comfortable, as if I weren't the little good boy. I was feeling, as time goes by, as if the space of the airplanes´seats were shorter. Fortunately my sweetie could sleep for moments and that made me feel calm. Almost 8 hours to get our destination on the 20th day. The moment just arrived and the airplane did so. Morning of the 2oth, I had my eyes seeing through our seat's line window and I stared at the sea water. There were many islands. It seemed as if Christmas was last night, almost all the city was covered by snow. That was the first time I have experienced snow in the city itself. But, I hadn't care about this fact because I finally arrived to NY with my sweetie and I knew we were going to have a wonderful stay.

I experienced many new things, I did things I have never done in my whole life. Firstly, snowing. NY's weather in winter time is characterized by snowing, raining and hailing. And sometimes, how snowing!! All roads were covered by snow so it became a bad time for drivers. I have visited Canada but I haven't experienced snowing, I just have seen snow in the mountains. Secondly, doing snowtubing for the first time was incredible. I got all the vertigo while I was going down so fast inside a tube. Several times we did this in small groups. Thirdly, this may seem funny at the time, but after trying someting at a restaurant so spicy, it started to make me burn from the outside part of my mouth up to the lower part of my stomache. It was incredible. Suicidal Wings!! the hottest food I've ever had, that was so that I couldn't finished my five wings. At the end, three wings were eaten and liters of iced tea were trying to lower the level of hot in my organism. An unforgettable time. Fourthly, being so far away from my family was a really challenging experience: Not being disorganized, nervous, lazy, uncapable of doing things, and so on were totally fordidden. I'm not trying to refer myself as that, but having these completely controlled and done were really a great experience to mature. Fifthly, going to a concert was perhaps the most fanatic, noisy and wild situation where I took place in. 30 Seconds to Mars concert in NY, not carried out at a stadium but a bar-based place, congregated many fans and visitors just as me. I was with my sweetie and her cousins. It couldn´t be better that we were so close to the platform that they could reached Jared Leto´s leg. And finally, just to list one more thing to this large list, waiting in the line for eating. That might appear as ridiculous, specially if I say that it was a pizzeria (there are uncountable pizza restaurants in NY). Nonetheless, the pizza restaurant was not a common one. It´s name is Grimaldi´s and this restaurant has its history. Would you go to eat to the pizeeria where Frank Sinatra and many other famous celebrities used to eat? If your anwer is yes, then you can see why we went to that restaurant and waited almost one hour before we were made ourselves comfortable. Moreover, we were six people and we ordered three pizzas (large ones). It was incredible that two people ate one single large pizza. I had never done so. Just one word: Anecdotal.

Staten Island, coextensive with Richmond County was the borough of NY where I stayed during my trip. My sweetie´s family´s home had been my lodging, a very comfortable and nice place. Her cousins very funny, their friends too. There are many forests surrounding houses in Staten Island. 28 minute-ferry-trip away from Manhattan, Staten Island is a residential place where there are many different international stores. A fair-free train crosses along Staten Island which takes people up to the ferry.

This trip was really a wonderful one. Besides the above list, we watched many movies (at the theaters and DVD's), also I experienced the longest movie screens worldwide and also I started to watch a soap opera from Telemundo for the first time. We played Rock Band with XBOX. Once we went to a Pizza Buffet, Oh My God! that was crazy. At the end I ate more cinnamon rolls (dessert) than pizza slices. I really haven't miss Peruvian cuisine because we often ate this food at home. So delicious. Among other things, I could find a book for my research project. Unforgettable time.
